Employee Spotlight – Alison Jacobi
Meet Alison Jacobi, Talent Recruiter
How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
Over the course of my career at Marcum Search, I have gained the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive as a recruiter. Marcum has given me the essential resources and technology to connect with top professionals in the tax and audit industry, as well as provide a firsthand look into the intricate world of public accounting.
In my career I am most proud of…
I am most proud of all the professionals I have had the opportunity to help. The best part of my job is hearing from a past candidate about how much they love their new position. There is nothing more rewarding than waking up everyday knowing I have the ability to impact someone’s life and make a difference. I am also proud of the close relationships that I have built with my colleagues and other professionals within the industry.
My favorite quote is…
“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.”
– Coco Chanel
Three words to describe myself…
Bubbly, loyal, and caring.
My perfect day is…
Any day of being a tourist in a new city on a fabulous vacation, where I can eat lots of snacks, shop and laugh with my family and good friends.
Advice for my 16 year old self…
Life will not always be this chaotic. Don’t give up and keep laughing!
The person who had the biggest impact on my life is…
My dad and my mom. My dad showed me the true meaning of hard work, and my mom always reminded me to be my authentic, goofy-self. Losing both of my parents at such a young age gave me the courage, strength and resilience to take on whatever life throws at me.
Number 1 on my bucket list is…
To travel to Tahiti and stay in an overwater bungalow. Maybe sail on yacht, as well!
What is your best tip on how to stay connected while still practicing social distancing during COVID-19?
Phone a friend!
What is one thing you hope to achieve in 2021?
My first goal is to stop complaining as much. I also hope to make even more connections and placements than I did in 2020.
