Meet Katie Grady - Vice President
Tell us a little about yourself
I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and spent most summers at the Jersey shore. I started my career in programming, after earning a Bachelors in Math & Computer Science. I spent 8 years in a Sales role for an IT consulting firm, then started my own recruiting business. I’ve been doing IT recruiting for over 20 years. I’m married 34 years, and we are blessed with amazing kids, a Daughter, Son and future daughter-in-law. I come from a very large immediate and extended family, and family is everything to me! I enjoy time with friends and family and love to play golf!!
How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
It has been nice to be a part of a talented team of recruiters, collaborating on ideas, learning new ways to find great candidates and having the infrastructure and tools to be successful in my role.
My favorite quote is
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”
Three words to describe myself
Dependable, Competitive and Fun!
My perfect day is
A round of golf followed by dinner with my husband and kids.
Advice for my 16 year old self
Start saving early and live in the moment.
Number 1 on my bucket list
Travel to Australia and Africa.
The person who had the biggest impact on my life is
My Mom – she raised 5 children and ran her own business. She is very supportive and pushed us to be our best. She is always available for advice and guidance. She taught me the game of golf! She is also an amazing Grandmother to her 9 grandchildren.
In my career I am most proud of
I started my own recruiting business when my children were young, so I could have more flexibilty to be home with them. It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it to have the time with my children.
A funny or memorable experience from your career or personal life?
Our family reunions with my Grand-Fathers’ family – every 3 years, with family from US, Canada, England and New Zealand – 80-100 family members attend. We’ve had gathering in Canada, Ireland and many in the US. The most recent was in July 2023 in Stowe Vermont.
