Employee Spotlight – Robyn DeNicola
Meet Robyn DeNicola - Recruiting Administrator - IT Team
Tell us a little about yourself
Hi! I’ve been married for almost 20 years to my husband Tom, and we have two, wonderful children, Thomas and Julia; 18 and 15 respectively. We just relocated to beautiful South Carolina from New Jersey and love to be outdoors with our two french bulldogs, Lenny and Piper.
I love to cook and my favorite is Italian. One day, I hope to travel back to Italy to take some cooking classes. My grandparents immigrated from Sicily so I want to start there.
You can usually find me reading, hanging out with my family or just chilling on the beach.
How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
My career has grown in so many ways, both professionally and personally.
First of all, I never thought that I would be sourcing and recruiting people for jobs, yet here I am! It’s very exciting when you place someone with their dream job and they start a new chapter in their life. So rewarding!
My favorite quote is
Mean what you say, and say what you mean.
Three words to describe myself
Loyal, determined and empathetic.
My perfect day is
Waking up whenever I want and spending the day with the people that mean the most to me. It would involve cooking, eating, playing some board games and watching a great movie.
If I could fit in a yoga session that would be a plus!
Advice for my 16 year old self
Don’t chase the money, chase the opportunity.
Number 1 on my bucket list
To write a bestselling novel one day. I have no idea what it would be about, but YOLO!
The person who had the biggest impact on my life is
My grandmother because she embodied strength and kindness in equal parts.
In my career I am most proud of
The friendships that I made in my early career. I still keep in touch with those people and it’s great to see how far we have come; both personally and professionally.
A funny or memorable experience from your career or personal life?
Starting a job and getting let go on the same day; it was wild! The company literally went bankrupt on my first day. I was given a month’s pay, my laptop and a glowing letter of recommendation for working 3 hours.
I decided to take the summer off after that debacle. The upside was that I read some great books and spent a lot of time at the beach.
